I would like to wish all Adventures in High Fidelity Audio’s readers, and their families a very Happy and merry Christmas and a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Based on a few email exchanges in the last few months I hope to be able to bring a few interesting reviews early on in […]
Dedication I want to dedicate this review to my parents – I miss you both. ‘A Beginning is a very Delicate Time’. ‘Know then……..’ This was to have been the first in a series (1) of reviews aimed at exploring the various upgrade options to improve a stock Technics 1200/1210 turntable, a series of […]
In this part Three of Adventures in High Fidelity Audio’s coverage of NAS 2015, thanks to Mark ‘Ynwan’ I can now complete the NAS show coverage by including companies missed in the earlier parts, and I am now also able to add a few extra images of companies rooms covered in part One, that add […]
This years Headzones at NAS 2015 was located in the entrance hall to the show, in the Brooklands Suite and was sponsored by High End Headphones, part of the HiFi Lounge audio consultancy based in a beautifully converted granary, Dunton Bedfordshire. This year brands on show included Astell & Kern, Altas Zeno (headphone cables), Audeze, Audio […]
With great appreciation to Justin Anon (User211) I am delighted to be able to present a mostly photograph show report (I will add detail and discuss items of particular interest) of the National Audio Show (taking place as I write), held once again at Whittelbury Hall, in the beautiful Northhamptonshire countryside in England. Its been […]
Such a simple circuit has no right to sound as good as this. With a little fettling, such as perhaps upgrading the input capacitors in the signal path, and replacing the Chinese sourced 200uF caps in the power supply, the performance could well be further improved. However, as it stands, this little device represents excellent value for money and is to be commended.
So if you want to try out a moving coil cartridge but your amplifier is only equipped with a fixed-coil input, the Little Bear T8-1 headamp can be recommended to get you started.
This particular review wasn’t scheduled and popped up out of the blue, as a result of a friend asking me to set a new purchase up for him (lucky guy) and what a joy that process has been. AMG short for Analog Manufaktur Germany have been around for awhile making quality turntable parts for other companies […]
I don’t mind saying that this particular review has been a very long time in gestation and at one point I wasn’t entirely sure it would actually happen as Arthur Khoubesserian’s other Funk Firm products (1), each one needing personal tender loving care were pushing further and further back the launch of these more niche […]
Once again the city of Bristol hosted the 2015 Sound and Vision Show organised by specialist audio retailer Audio T and What HiFi and as normal held in the Marriott City Centre Hotel. The show features a mixture of brands, with the focus more broadly based and slightly less upper reaches High End than other shows, […]
The audio world is awash with DACs, streamers and servers these days, all vying to give the end user access to the world of computer audio, be it, Red Book 16 bit 44.1, Hi resolution files 24 bit, 88/96/192, streamed or the hot new kid (actually an older kid Mr SACD) in town DSD […]
