I have just been made aware that the forth coming National Sound & Vision Show to be held in Dublin, being organised by the Chester Group for the 30th and 31st of October 2010 has been cancelled. Those who were to have exhibited at it have been notified (yesterday the 13th of October) that the show has been cancelled and I assume any who have pre-booked tickets have also been informed.
Sadly Chester Groups website shows no news on the cancellation, in fact no information what-so-ever; any references to the show have been removed in total from Chester Groups website.
It would seem that there were to be too many shows on the island of Ireland. The Cloney Show 13th and 14th of November, Bewleys Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin and the Belfast HiFi Show being held at the Stormont Hotel 6th and 7th of November + a few smaller dealer organised shows on the UK mainland (in and around the same time) which meant that support for the Dublin show had not materialised as had been hoped for.
The hope for this event was that it would be the Irish equivalent of the UK mainland National Audio Show just past and would like Whittlebury be an all island national show, rather than a small local show. I should point out that this is my view for the cancellation and not Chester Groups official explanation for the cancellation.
Anyway I wish the organisers of the upcoming Belfast Show and Cloney Audio of Blackrock, Dublin all the best for their upcoming shows.
