Hard to believe but its a whole year since I attended the last National Audio Show – or in fact any audio show – and in a few weeks time I will be attending this years – once again held at the Whittelbury Hall hotel on the 22nd to 23rd 0f September.
As per previous show reports my intention is to cover all the rooms and give the reader a virtual tour of the show.
This year it looks to be a very exciting show with lots of new product launches from the likes of Sansui, Raidho, BM line, Quadral, VTL, Bel Canto and new distributor of Polish audio G Point Audio, but there is also the inclusion of a separate headphone related show held at the same time within Whittelbury called Headzones.
I was quite excited by some of the headphone related kit that was on show last year from Schiit Audio and at this new event those who use headphones to listen by will be able to see and hear products from the following companies: Hifi-Man, Schiit Audio, Stax, Audio Technica, Omega Headphone Stands, Cavalli Audio, German Maestro, Audeze, Sound Magic, Just Audio, Sennheiser, AKG, and harman/kardon.
Also at the show there will be a Classic Album Sunday’s (1) event playing all the tracks from a number of classic rock and pop album on both days – presented by Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy on the Saturday and by Alan Boyd and John Carroll of Loud & Clear on the Sunday.
There will also be a showing of Last Shop Standing on the Saturday afternoon, which highlights the history and fight independent record shops are having to stay in business (2) I know about this only to well as I work in a Book Shop – another endangered type of specialist retailer.
I look forward to discovering new audio, new music and meeting old friends and making new ones at the show.
