Chester Group, well known as organisers of quality shows on the UK mainland announce a new All Ireland National Sound and Vision Show to take place on the 30th to 31st of October 2010 in Dublin Ireland.
“The Chester Group to team up with Richer Sounds Belfast and The Philips Shop Dublin for the very first National Sound & Vision Show for Ireland. ” from Chester Group website.
It has been quite some time since there has been a large HiFi show in Dublin and traditionally these were organised by Noel Cloney of Cloney Audio based in Black Rock Dublin http://www.cloneyaudio.com/. These well attended shows, both by the trade and visitors were usually staged at the Berlington Hotel which has a fairly central Dublin location. This new show is being held at Crown Plaza Northwood Park, which is sadly less central for those who wish to travel by train, though it is well positioned for international and national visitors being close to the airport.
The show is being jointly organised with “John & Ursula McDonald who own the Philips and Richer Sound Stores in Ireland, who will be great partners and have a huge range of brands to offer this the first National Sound and Vision Show for Ireland.” from Chester Group website
Says John McDonald “Richer Sounds Ireland are delighted to be the chosen retail partners for The National Sound & Vision Show ’10 and look forward to offering our Customers great show discounts on a wide range of AV products in partnership with leading manufacturers from Ireland, the UK & Europe.” from Chester Group website.
There is no further information available at this time. However watch AIHFA for any significant news updates.
On a personal note…
As excited as I am at the prospect of a new show in Ireland, I can’t help but wonder how this will effect the show being organised in the north of Ireland (Belfast) for the following month (6th and 7th of November) and also without the presence of Cloney Audio (as of time of writing) at the Dublin show, will the products being exhibited be as comprehensive as they would be if Cloney Audio were involved; only time will tell.
I want to wish the Chester Group and John and Ursula McDonald all the best in this venture and if Adventures in High Fidelity Audio can attend, then we will bring you as complete a show report on this new event as we did for the March past London Hi Fidelity Show.
The end of this year is going to be a very busy one for everyone involved in the audio/video trade, with so many shows taking place…..
